We had been looking at Jeeps for checking cows and driving back and forth to the hay fields and just playing around in. We never could find one just like we wanted until this one. We did not like the color but we could deal with it. So far we have tinkered with it a little bit but there will be more to come. We have put new tires on, painted the finders black, and serviced it out. We have only had it for about 2 weeks and have loved it. All the pictures are kinda muddy. We can't keep it clean. We had it clean and then went in the mud with it so I will have to get pics later with it all clean and shiny.

Halloween

Jeremy's uncle Max brought their little girl Reagan by to trick-or-treat. We had so much time while we were there and wished we could have stayed longer and could have seen more of my friends. While we were there I got to see the finished product of the new elevator system dad had put up on the new grain bins. Jeremy and I were gonna climb to the top of the elevator but it was so windy that we got about half way up and it was about to blow us off. But don't worry, next chance we get we will be making it to the top.

It is so tall I couldn't get the very top in the picture. We talked about building one last year and decided to just go on a build it a couple of months ago. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, it's more of a place to get together and eat than anything. Every year the first week of deer season the Kitchen's get together every night and invite friends over for a meal and just a good time. Every year, they always had a big shop cleaning day so that we could do all the eating in there. But now that we have the deer camp it will stay clean year round and we can do this more than just the first week of deer season. It turned out being a lot nicer than I originally thought it was going to be but it looks great. I posted a couple pictures below of the start and finish product and then of it being used.

Going up!

Almost done.

The finished product

Some of the guys trying out the new smoker.

Sunday night when we had the church over for supper.

Jeremy and I along with his parents went and looked at a herd of Charolais bulls this past Sunday and Jeremy and I picked the one below out. His parents got one as well but I did not post the pictures of them on here. We got all hookep up to the trailer and then I went yesterday and picked Jeremy up from work with the truck and trailer and we left there to get our new charolais bull. He is so gentle and looks really great. I am so excited about him and ready to put him in service this next year so that we can see what kind of calves he is gonna throw.

Tennessee Pigs Living in Arkansas

When we went to visit my family in April, dad sent pigs back home with us. I have always enjoyed working with pigs and don't know what I would do without being able to mess with them. Jeremy already had a hog pen and then daddy gave me supplies to build the boar pen. I have 5 right now: 2 gilts, 2 barrows, and 1 boar. I love messing with them every day and they keep me occupied. They are about 6 months old right now and are steadily growing. I plan to breed them in late January so that I can sell a few of them for fair pigs. I cant wait to breed them and get a litter off of them. It has been over a year since I have had my own pigs farrowing and I miss every minute of it so now hopefully I will be able to do a little of it myself here in Arkansas.

The New Mower

Mama and daddy gave us a mower back in the Spring and I am just now getting pictures posted. We sowed the yard down in bermuda a few weeks ago and then wound up getting about 15 inches of rain within the next few days, therefore our grass is not looking good YET. It has started coming up but is still real small. I am not quite done with all of the landscaping yet but will be done soon. I plan on getting a fountain to put in the front yard but don't have it yet. Here are some of the pictures I have so far.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338647166272161906" style="DISPLAY: block; We have recently found some more pasture land to rent. We were so excited to find this 70 acres and our cows were as well. We had been looking for something to rent or buy and this came up so we jumped on it. Now our calves will really grow. We worked two weekends ago on getting the fences and everyhting ready for cows. Then we worked the cows this past weekend and finally got them and their calves moved over there to the new rent land.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319755156830396130" style="DISPLAY: block; We have not fallen off the side of the earth! I have just not been taking many pictures and I like to post pictures when I post something new and I just haven't had any pictures to take. We went home in February to see the family and go to Louisville for the tractor pull and the farm show. We had a great time while we were home and wished we could have stayed longer but we had to get back home.
We have finally got the old H done and it looks great. Jeremy's daddy keeps telling us that it looks better now than it did when they bought it brand new. We are really proud of it and I'm really proud of Jeremy. It was a lot of work for him to do plus his job. He is such a hard worker. Well here are the pictures and that's all i have for now. We were greatly blessed in making the trip to and from safely. We got to see lots of family that I haven't seen since the wedding and that was great. We did the Stewart tradition and went to my Aunts for Christmas Eve and spent Christmas day with my family at mom and dads house. It was great. One of the things mom and dad got us for Christmas...matching coveralls!

My little cousins are growing so fast!

Over Christmas we also bought us a new tractor and of course it is a Case. We found it in Georgia so my father went and got it and took it to his house then when we came home from Tennessee we brought it on home from my parents. It was Jeremy and I, Kelli and Woo, and Blake on a 4-wheeler. I believe we rode through just about every pond, ditch, and creek that we could find. We all got muddy but Kelli got the worst. She fell off the 4-wheeler when her and Woo were going through a ditch and she landed in the water. Noone was hurt but we had some good laughs.

On New Years Eve we had Jeremy's family over and had a big cook-out, firework show, and 4-wheeler ride. We went to Tractor Supply, O'Reily's, and then Popeyes for supper. Then we were off to home. Everything was going good until we got about 4 miles from home when we hit a buck. It scared me pretty bad because I've never hit a deer or even been in a wreck. But we pulled off the road and checked out the Nitro and of course the deer. Apparently going 60 mph in my Nitro and hitting a 6 point buck does dont go together when they collide. Luckily we were not hurt and have full coverage on my vehichle so we will only be out our deductible. So I'm taking it this afternoon and leaving it to get fixed while we are off to Tennessee to my family.

Dogs, dogs, and more dogs.

Ruby layin by her tree.

Peanut trying to jump on the couch! Then we went to Gander Mt. just to browse around and see if there were any new goodies we wanted. After we played at Gander Mt. for a little while we went to the Roadhouse for supper. It was great as always and we even had some food left to have left overs the next day. The trip was a well needed one so that Jeremy and I could get out and have some time to ourselves and get away from some things.

So, apparently taking pictures while driving is not a good idea, but this one is the best one we got.

While At Work

Well, I have taken up a new obsession while Jeremy is at work. During the day I normally have school, wash-dry-and fold clothes, clean house, make plans for supper, check cows, and various other stuff. Most of this stuff does take up most of my time while he is at work or at least it keeps me occupied. But I have decided to take up an old hobby. A couple of years ago my parents got me a sewing machine so I decided to drag it back out and use it again. So far I have made some pillows and curtains and am planning other things to make. My only problem is I have to drive 30-40 miles away to get material and stuff because our local wal-mart does not sell that stuff anymore. I have not bought any new fabrics/material yet, I have just been using up some that I already had from a few years ago. Well I'm going to go and work on getting some more projects figured out. Any ideas, let me know.

the cows are one o fthe curtains I made and the other are a couple of pillows. one with puppies the other with deer and bears(wildlife scenes)

Saturday night we had Josh and Ashley over and I made fajitas. We also decided to take a break from working on the house and everything on Sunday. We fixed a deer stand and got it all put up. We got to ride on our new 4-wheeler and play with it and got to check the deer cameras. We've got a pretty good size buck on one of our camera's and also got a few coons. We moved in on Friday night then the Hurricane hit so Jeremy wound up having to work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights. We have got most of all the important stuff out and I have just been gradually unpacking boxes while Jeremy is at work. When he gets home from work we check cows and work around the yard trying to get it all cleaned up and fixing all the fences around here. While he was at work today I went and helped his parents work cows for a little bit. It was fun while I was there and it made me feel more at home. I love when they ask me to do stuff because I miss all my jobs back a thome on the farm. Well I've have got to get the clothes washed and folded before Jeremy gets home so that is all for now.

Our New House!

Well we are finally moving in! We are so excited we just cant wait. It is a 5 bedroom, 2 living room, office, and a 2 bath house with a huge kitchen. Around the house is pretty much a jungle so Jeremy and his dad have been cleaning up around it while Jeremy's mother and sisters have been helping me get the inside of the house all cleaned up. We are beginning to move stuff in a room at a time. We plan to be all moved in and out of this house by Saturday. We can already tell this is going to be a busy and stressful week. We are not doing any remodeling quite yet, we are just trying to get moved in and out of this house. We are going to put new carpet, new counter tops on the cabinets, and a new bathtub in the bathroom soon but not sure when. We have got to get everything on the inside and outside cleaned up first. We are so glad to finally be back out into the country. We are both country folks and have never lived in the city before so these past couple months have been hard with trying to live the city life. We have also got 20 acres of land that has came with the house so were are building fences around it to put some of our calves in. Well I've got to get to packing and cleaning so this is all for now.

Back Home In Arkansas

Well we made the trip back to my plantation In Tennessee this weekend and went to the tractor pull. It was great to be back on the family farm and to be around the sport I love...tractor pulling. Dad let me drive the pulling tractor out on the track before I sang then in the middle of the pull Michael, my brother made an exibition run with it. So we had a lot of fun there. It was great to see my family and church friends. We left our dog with Jeremy's parents and they said she stayed depressed pretty much the whole time we were gone because she missed us. She was so happy for us to get back from Tennessee, but they said she was great while we were gone. So I was proud that my little girl was good.
Today, Jeremy went to work and I went with his Aunt to SAU. She showed me where all my classes are and showed me around in Magnolia. I bought all my books and will start school working towards my ag. business degree on Monday. Well gotta get back to getting the house all cleaned up and washing clothes.

Finally Settled In!

Well I'm going to try this deal since I am so far from the homestead. We'll see how it works out and let me know what you think.
So we are finally settled in or at least we think we are. Everything has been great except for the fact that we found out that I am bad allergic to fireants, and here in Arkansas they are full of them. I got attacked by them so Jeremy made me go to the doctor and he put me on medicine. Other than that everything is good we just both stay busy. He's stays busy at work and I stay busy at home playing house wife. When he gets home from work we head out to the farm and take care of our cows. Monday night we celebrated his grandpa's birthday by cooking fish. Then we went varmit hunting. We got 5 coons, 20 armadillos, 1 oppossum, and 5 hogs. It was so much fun. Last night we took his truck to Nashville, AR to get some recalls fixed on his truck. Tonight is church, tomorrow we are going to work with the calves we weaned. Then Friday when he gets home we're headed to Tennessee for the weekend. I cant wait.
Well that's all for now.
